Summary
As the Buyer/Planner II, your primary area of responsibility is to procure raw material to support the demands of the production and delivery schedules. The Buyer/Planner II will set inventory levels, support negotiated vendor partnerships, follow pricing methodologies/agreements for procurement, and ensure timely delivery of needed materials and/or subcontract labor as needed to meet production and delivery schedules.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Procurement
-
Highly functional knowledge of ERP and MRP systems/methodologies.

Analyze production and delivery schedules to generate purchase orders based on calculated material needs

Create and issue purchase orders, track vendor acknowledgements, and resolve issues regarding quality or delivery

Maintain optimal inventory levels by monitoring stock levels, setting reorder points, and managing vendor lead times

Provides effective management and supervision that ensures materials are received, warehoused and delivered in accordance with production schedules.

Involved actively in purchase, freight, supply, production, quality check and delivery to builder along with accurate invoicing.

Research and identify potential suppliers to supply materials

Executes on supplier agreements that meet the requirements of the Company.

Ensure the performance of the supply chain from customer order through manufacture to shipment to the customer.

Reporting and Vendor Management

Prepare and report on procurement activities, inventory levels, and market conditions.

Track inventory and provide supporting data for consumption and purchasing forecasts.

Analyze purchases to identify and capitalize on opportunities for cost reductions.

Identify, evaluate, and negotiate terms as needed with reliable suppliers to secure the best quality, terms, and pricing for products.

Maintain and update supplier databases to ensure accuracy of contact, part/products, and payment information.

Provides timely and accurate support to internal and external customers.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
-
Associate or bachelor’s degree in a business-related field OR a minimum of 5 years’ related buyer/planner experience in a manufacturing or construction related field.

Demonstrated understanding of supply chain management.

Purchasing experience including vendor/program negotiations.
-
At least 4 years of increasingly responsible leadership or vendor management related experience.

Has had experience in ERP implementations or ERP optimization.

Individuals must be a professional with an organized approach to business, strong communication skills, strategic thinker, and have the ability to motivate suppliers. Accuracy and dependability with the ability to prioritize sensibly and perform steadily under deadline pressures. Must be able to assume a leadership role and be assertive.
