Position Overview:
This position is multifunctional with duties in several areas, a Buyer/Planner being one of the primary tasks. Additionally, monitoring production flow and day-to-day problem resolution ensuring smooth production is required periodically. Other tasks and duties will include document control which includes traditional document changes and BOM change reviews with updates in the ERP system, and responsibility for overseeing shipping and receiving
The Buyer/Planner side is responsible for providing planning, purchasing, inventory management, and maintaining the ERP system. This position will report to the Chief Executive Officer. To meet objectives, they will need to submit purchase orders for standard products in a timely manner, send out RFQ and RFPs, perform cycle count activities, and plan for long lead time items.
The successful candidate will be someone who has a firm understanding of how transactions relate to each other in an ERP system. Understand lead times and adjusting ordering accordingly to ensure the uninterrupted supply of materials. Has a helpful and problem-solving focused attitude.
Qualifications:
Associate or bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
Position is on site and based in Tucson, AZ.
Full operational knowledge of an ERP system.
Job Requirements:
Planning of sub assembly and final product build.
Preparing and Issuing purchase orders, reviewing quotations, and negotiating pricing.
Understand document change order process within ERP system and server.
Develop solid relationships with suppliers and manufacturers.
Ability to read and have a basic understanding of technical drawings and part prints.
Ability to conduct cycle counts as needed.
Sourcing new suppliers and helping source samples to help with alternative part qualification.
Monitoring inventory levels and coordinating with internal teams to meet demand.
Following up with vendors on past due materials.
Process requisitions and provide updates on the status of orders.
Update inventory and ensure stock is kept at appropriate levels.
Assess quality and accuracy of materials received and escalate discrepancies to suppliers and management.
Process return POs and RMAs.
Process ECOs.
Excellent computer skills in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
