Our Buyer/Purchaser reports to the Director of Clinical Support Services and supports Edgerton Hospital by:

• Procuring medical supplies, equipment, services, and other goods required for the effective operation of the hospital
• Ensures timely, cost-effective, and compliant purchases while maintaining quality standards
• Collaborates with clinical and administrative departments to support patient care and operational needs
• Handles product returns
• Maintains catalog files, product conversions, & in-servicing
• Assists with physical inventory counts

Essential Role Functions:

• Research, source, and evaluate suppliers to ensure high-quality products and services at competitive prices. Will bring research to the director for approval.
• Process purchase orders in accordance with hospital policies and budgetary guidelines.
• Maintain and update records of purchases, pricing, and delivery information in the procurement system Multiview.
• Track orders and ensure timely delivery; resolve issues related to delayed or incorrect shipments.
• Collaborate with department heads to forecast supply needs and avoid inventory shortages.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and group purchasing organization.
• Monitor supplier performance and address non-compliance or service issues.
• Work with the finance department to reconcile invoices and resolve discrepancies.
• Stay informed about market trends, supply chain disruptions, and new product offers.
• Proactively collaborates with supply chain colleagues throughout region, vendors, group purchasing organization, etc. to effectively provide service.
• Represent the materials department in meetings internally and externally.
• Create and maintain a dashboard to demonstrate the health of the materials department.

Education

• Associates or degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Health Care or a related field preferred, or five years related work experience.
• High school diploma is required.

Experience

• 2–3 years of purchasing or procurement experience, preferably in a health care or hospital environment preferred.
• Familiarity with medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and health care equipment is highly desirable

We are looking for a full-time, benefit eligible, Buyer/Purchaser who will support our Materials Management department.
