Buying & Merchandising

We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Executive – Buying & Merchandising to join our Travel Retail (Duty Free) business. The role requires a professional with strong buying/purchasing experience, excellent analytical skills, and fluency in English (both written & verbal). The ideal candidate should be highly proficient in MS Excel and capable of handling end-to-end buying, merchandising, and reporting activities.

Key Responsibilities

Buying & Merchandising

• Manage the procurement process, ensuring the right product mix, pricing, and availability.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, suppliers, and brand partners.
• Negotiate purchase terms, payment conditions, and contracts to ensure maximum profitability.
• Conduct market research to analyze consumer trends, competitor offerings, and category performance.
• Ensure timely replenishment of stock to avoid shortages while minimizing overstocking.
• Coordinate with the logistics and supply chain team for smooth inbound and outbound operations.
• Monitor sales performance and recommend pricing strategies, promotions, and assortment planning.
• Support in creating product displays, planograms, and merchandising standards to enhance customer experience.

MIS & Reporting

• Prepare and maintain detailed reports on sales, purchases, stock movement, margins, and category performance.
• Perform data analysis using MS Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, dashboards, etc.) to support decision-making.
• Generate weekly, monthly, and quarterly MIS reports for management review.
• Track and evaluate supplier performance through regular reporting and KPIs.
• Present insights and recommendations based on data to improve business outcomes.

Desired Candidate Profile

• Graduate/Postgraduate in Business, Supply Chain, Retail Management, or related field.
• Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in Buying/Purchasing or Merchandising, preferably in FMCG, Liquor, Tobacco, or Retail sector.
• Fluency in English – strong written and verbal communication skills are a must.
• Advanced MS Excel skills (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, HLOOKUP, dashboards, formulas, data analysis).
• Strong negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to multitask, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
