Location: DALLAS, TEXAS 75247

Employment Type: Full-Time

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8-hour day, on-site office/shop environment

Arden Millworks is a custom cabinet, furniture and millwork shop located in Dallas, TX. We work with high-end custom home builders, architects and interior designers to create custom cabinets and millwork finishes for new construction homes and other specialty projects. Our team also creates bespoke furniture pieces to compliment the overall projects we collaborate on.

Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Cabinet Designer / Draftsman with Cabinet Vision software experience to support the design and production of primarily custom cabinetry projects. This role bridges design, engineering, and production, ensuring projects are accurately drawn, engineered, and ready for manufacturing with CNC ready plans. The ideal candidate understands both the aesthetic intent and the technical requirements needed to execute high-end custom work. Individual should be comfortable collaborating face-to-face with shop team as well as on-site with architects, builders and interior designers. Future responsibilities can include furniture & millwork design to support our growing business.

Cabinet Designer / Draftsman Key Responsibilities

· Create detailed shop drawings, elevations, and 3D renderings using Cabinet Vision

· Develop cut lists, labels, CNC-ready files, and material requirements from Cabinet designs

· Translate architectural plans, interior design drawings, and client concepts into production-ready drawings

  • Collaborate and communicate effectively with interior designers, architects and builders while working through shop drawings

· Assist with project takeoffs, estimating support, and material planning

· Review and resolve design conflicts prior to production

· Specify materials, hardware, and construction methods appropriate for each project

· Maintain drawing standards and file organization for all projects

· Site visits to projects to aid in drawing accuracies and trade partner vision and collaborations with architects, builders and interior designers

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3+ years of experience with CNC design and Cabinet Vision software (required)
  • Good communicator, personable with ability to interact positively with venders and partners
  • Ability to read and interpret shop drawings, blueprints, and technical documents
  • Background with interior design, architecture or AutoCAD is a plus

· Knowledge of hardware systems (hinges, slides, specialty fittings)

  • Familiarity with nesting/optimization strategy, job staging for CNC operations
  • Understanding of finishing methods and material applications (veneer, hardwoods, laminates)

· Understanding of cabinet construction methods, joinery and materials

· Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

· Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines
