Cabinet Finisher

Hughes Kitchens & Bath is seeking a skilled cabinet finisher to join our remodeling team. This position is for someone who wants a stable long-term environment, takes pride in detailed, high-quality work, and understands what it takes to deliver an amazing finished product. Every project is different, so responsibilities will vary depending on the scope of work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare cabinetry, doors, and trim for finishing (sanding, filling, masking, surface prep)
• Perform professional stain matching to customer samples and specifications
• Mix and apply stains to achieve consistent color and tone
• Spray and/or brush primers, paints, lacquers, and conversion varnishes
• Sand between coats to achieve smooth, high-end finishes
• Inspect finished pieces for quality and correct any defects
• Perform touch-ups as needed, both in shop and occasionally on-site
• Maintain a clean, organized spray booth and finishing area
• Clean and maintain spray equipment and tools
• Follow all safety procedures regarding ventilation and finishing materials
• Work with production staff to meet project timelines

Qualifications

• 3+ years experience in cabinet finishing, millwork finishing, or related trade
• Strong stain matching ability (required)
• Experience spraying cabinetry and trim (HVLP or similar systems)
• Knowledge of primers, sealers, lacquers, and waterborne finishes
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, punctual, and professional
