Reports to Design and Purchasing Manager and Ownership

Job Requirements, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Two years or more of design and purchasing experience in a similar facility is preferred. Knowledge of cabinet design and related functions is a plus.
• Experience with AutoCAD and Cabinet Vision is preferred.
• Strong skill in Microsoft Office is preferred (mostly in excel).
• Ability to read and comprehend architectural drawings and technical specifications.
• Possess excellent organizational and multi-task skills; must demonstrate ability to manage several activities at once, organize/prioritize work to meet internal and external deadlines.
• Proactive – looks for problems that could impede progress and takes responsibility for solving them.
• The ability to use computer software and office equipment, previous experience with Cabinet Vision is preferred. Technically proficient in Microsoft Office.

Essential Job Functions:

• Participate in job discovery by reviewing plans/specs and submitting questions for clarification.
• Create accurate and detailed millwork shop drawings from provided plans and specs. Work to revise and resubmit drawings as the General Contractor and Architect review. Our goal as a company is to have initial shops sent within 2 weeks of receiving a contract / letter of intent and having revisions resubmitted within 3 days of receiving.
• Order relevant samples to provide to GC/Architect.
• Once drawings are approved, create a material takeoff and order job specific materials.
• Create and distribute manufacturing drawings, machinery programing, and cultists as need to the Shop Foreman. (Domestic)
• Create import order requests to be sent to our import vendors, both cabinet takeoffs and countertop manufacturing drawings. Assist with reviews of these as needed. (Import)
• Work with the shop foreman on any design intent or details as needed, to create and accurate and correct product.
• Work with the OZM Project Manager and General Manger to review and establish project timelines and goals.
• Constant improvement is a value of OZM, be a member of the team to build SOPs, solve issues, and improve both our quality and efficiency in the design team.
• Build a culture of TRUST with shop team, leadership team, and ownership.
• All other duties as assigned.
