Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented CAD Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in computer-aided design and drafting, with expertise in various software tools. This role involves creating detailed designs and schematics for mechanical systems, ensuring accuracy and adherence to industry standards. The CAD Designer will collaborate with engineers and project managers to develop innovative solutions that meet client specifications.
Responsibilities
- Develop and produce detailed CAD drawings and schematics using software such as Inventor, AutoDesk and SolidWorks.
- Assemble complex designs by integrating various components into cohesive systems.
- Conduct system design analysis to ensure functionality and compliance with project requirements.
- Utilize Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to evaluate design performance under various conditions.
- Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles to ensure precision in designs.
- Create 2D animations to visually communicate design concepts and workflows.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and refine designs based on feedback.
- Maintain organized documentation of design processes, revisions, and specifications.
Requirements
- Proficiency in CAD software, including Autodesk, Inventor, SolidWorks, and FEA tools.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to understand complex systems and components.
- Experience in creating detailed schematics and assembly drawings.
- Familiarity with GD&T standards for accurate representation of dimensions and tolerances.
- Ability to produce 2D animations for design presentations is a plus.
- Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration within a team environment.
- A degree or certification in Mechanical Engineering, Design Technology, or a related field is preferred.
