Join our established aerospace NDT company in Bangalore, to help design and sell innovative systems like our recent DDA success, where you can be a part of the success. We're building an internal R&D team to create better versions of market products (UV lamps, mag yokes, PT benches, CT systems) and pass complete specs to our manufacturing partners. Potential fieldwork – mainly focused on desk-based ideation, reverse-engineering, and prototyping.
Key responsibilities:
· Develop new and improved designs for NDT equipment and systems (e.g. UV lamps, mag benches, penetrant lines, DDA/CR x ray systems).
· Reverse‑engineer existing products in the market and propose clear improvements in performance, usability, or cost.
· Create concept layouts, 3D models and specifications to be detailed by the CAD designer or taken forward yourself.
· Prepare technical specs and BOMs that can be handed to our manufacturing partners for fabrication and assembly.
· Work with internal Level 3s, sales and service team to understand recurring problems and convert them into product ideas.
· Support lab testing of prototypes, record results, and refine designs based on feedback.
· Document your work clearly so others can understand and it.
Who you are:
· You are reliable – you show up on time and deliver when you say you will.
· You are organised – you keep your drawings, notes, versions and files structured so anyone can follow your work.
· You can communicate clearly in English – you can explain your design to a technician, fabricator or Level 3 without confusing them.
· You take ownership – if something doesn’t work in testing, you focus on fixing it instead of making excuses.
· You are hands‑on and curious – you like opening things up, understanding how they work and thinking how to make them better.
Requirements:
· Diploma / B.Tech in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
· 2+ years of experience in mechanical/product design or industrial equipment (aerospace, automation, machinery, or similar).
· Good working knowledge of at least one 3D CAD tool (e.g. SolidWorks, CATIA, or similar) and 2D drafting (e.g. AutoCAD).
· Basic understanding of mechanical design principles (tolerances, materials, manufacturability).
· Comfortable working with technicians and vendors to get things built.
· Nice to have: Exposure to NDT (PT/MT/RT/CR/DDA/CT), basic electronics/automation (PLC/Arduino), or experience with custom machines.
Send resume + portfolio (CAD files or project examples) to Sunny@gnattechnologies.com. Join us to build the future of NDT.
