CAD Designer – Commercial Plumbing

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled CAD Designer specializing in Commercial Plumbing to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating detailed and accurate technical drawings, schematics, and system designs that adhere to industry standards. This role requires a strong foundation in mechanical design, plumbing systems, and proficiency with various CAD software tools. The CAD Designer will collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and construction teams to develop comprehensive plans that facilitate efficient project execution.

Duties

• Develop detailed 2D and 3D CAD models and drawings for commercial plumbing systems using AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and other CAD platforms.
• Create schematics, system designs, and assembly drawings in accordance with project specifications and industry standards such as ASME codes & standards.
• Apply GD&T principles to ensure precise manufacturing and assembly of plumbing components.
• Perform technical writing to produce clear documentation, including system descriptions and assembly instructions.
• Conduct design reviews and collaborate with engineers to optimize mechanical systems for performance and compliance.
• Support construction teams by providing detailed drawings and technical support during installation phases.
• Incorporate feedback from project stakeholders to refine designs and ensure alignment with client requirements.

Requirements

• Proven experience with AutoCAD software
• Strong knowledge of mechanical engineering principles related to plumbing systems and system design.
• Familiarity with ASME codes & standards applicable to plumbing and mechanical systems.
• Proficiency in schematics creation, drafting, 2D animation, assembly modeling, and FEA analysis.
• Mechanical knowledge combined with experience in construction-related projects is highly desirable.
• Excellent technical writing skills for producing clear documentation and specifications.
• Ability to interpret mechanical drawings and schematics accurately.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team environment. Job Types: Full-time, Temp-to-hire, Contract, Temporary

Pay: $32.00 - $45.00 per hour
