CAD Designer / Graphic Production Designer

Job Overview

We are a growing awning company and seeking a CAD Designer / Graphic Production Designer. The CAD Designer will assist in creating, updating and modifying basic drawings. This position will require work in the office environment, on the production floor, and occasionally on the job site. This position will also fulfill the Graphic Production Designer role. This aspect of the position will produce layouts for approval and fabrication for operating a vinyl plotter for the production staff within the graphics department. They will also supply production staff with directions and layout to apply graphics. Corel Draw is the primary software used for layouts and vinyl production. Corel Draw is similar to Flexi - Sign, Sign Lab and Illustrator.

Responsibilities

• Create basic CAD drawings for 2D engineering projects
• Work closely with engineers, salesperson, project coordinators, production employees and customers to support development of the highest quality product
• Identify and locate any missing information needed for a project
• Generate purchase orders for outsourced services and materials
• Assist production with interpretation of drawings when necessary
• Visit job site for measurements and some consulting
• Determine necessary equipment, tools and supplies to install job
• Produce graphic layouts for production approval
• Collaborate with sales staff to produce final graphic designs
• Produce layouts and production files for CNC router
• Occassionally apply vinyl graphics when needed
• Operate vinyl plotters for production

Skills

• Proficiency in 2D AutoCAD and MS Office software, 3D a plus
• Great communication ability
• Exceptional independent problem-solving skills
• Familiarity with production design techniques
• Airtable experience a plus
