CAD Drafter - Kitchen and Bath Remodeling

Dilworth's Custom Design is a family-owned business specializing in full-service home renovations, particularly kitchens and bathrooms. We design, manufacture custom cabinetry, and install, providing a one-stop-shop that includes plumbing, electrical, countertops, tiling, and more. We are known for high-quality custom work.

Job Overview

In this role, you will be responsible for interpreting initial designs and providing detailed 2D/3D layouts, renderings, and construction documents using Cabinet Vision and BricsCAD software used for Permit approvals .

Your mission will be to assist Sales, Design, Purchasing, Production and Installation teams by properly and accurately modeling and producing drawings to simplify the processes of selling, ordering, building and installing cabinetry and all accompanying accessories in the remodeling process.

Our ideal candidate is someone with the aptitude to become a Senior Designer. In this role, you will work closely with our Head of Sales & Design, providing a fast track to learning complex modeling techniques. We want you to use this as an opportunity to master our standards and the technical 'why' of our designs. It’s a chance to get hands-on experience and grow into a senior designer faster than a typical design-only role. The expected timeline for growth into senior designer would be 3-5 years with the ideal candidate.

Prospective Career Roadmap

  • Years 1-2 (CAD Drafter): Focus on learning Cabinet Vision program (in house) and mastering modeling standards using BricsCAD and Cabinet Vision , technical "whys," and design philosophy while working closely with the Head of Sales & Design.
  • Years 2-4 (Transition): Move from Drafter to CAD Designer, taking on more ownership of layouts , while still working closely with the Head of Sales & Design.
  • Years 4-6: Reach the Senior Designer level. Working with customers to design final plans and prepare for shop build and road installs

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Development: Revise detailed 2D floor plans, elevations, and 3D perspectives for kitchen and bathroom remodels.
  • Technical Drawings: Produce precise, actionable CAD drawings for electrical, plumbing, and cabinetry installation.
  • Revisions & Quality Control: Update drawings based on redlines, ensuring all documentation complies with industry standards, and verifying dimension accuracy.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Software Proficiency: Expert knowledge of Cabinet Vision or similar (20/20 Design is accepted). Knowledge of BricsCAD or similar is preferred. Drawing submission will be required as part of your interview process.
  • Design Knowledge: Understanding of functional planning, spatial awareness, knowledge of technical systems, and aesthetic selection.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of NKBA (National Kitchen & Bath Association) standards, building codes, and cabinetry construction.
  • Experience: Minimum 2+ years of experience in kitchen/bath drafting or design.
  • Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with cabinetry, appliances, lighting, and plumbing fixtures.
  • Education: Certificate or degree in interior design, architecture, or related field preferred.

Pay: $20.00 - $35.00 per hour
