CAD Draftsman – Security Systems / ELV / MEP/ ULV /Telecom

Role Overview

The CAD Draftsman – Security Systems / ELV / MEP is responsible for the preparation, coordination, and management of detailed technical drawings and drafting deliverables for complex electronic security, ELV, ICT, and multidisciplinary engineering projects.

This role supports the successful delivery of projects through the production of high-quality shop drawings, coordinated layouts, schematics, installation drawings, and as-built documentation aligned with project specifications, client requirements, authority regulations, and industry standards.

The successful candidate will possess strong experience across electronic security systems, ELV/ICT infrastructure, MEP coordination, and multidisciplinary drafting environments, with proven capability delivering complex projects including data centres, mixed-use developments, commercial towers, industrial facilities, and critical national infrastructure environments.

Key Responsibilities

1. Drafting & Drawing Preparation

• Prepare detailed technical drawings and coordinated layouts for:
• CCTV systems
• Access Control Systems
• Intrusion Detection Systems
• ANPR Systems
• Intercom Systems
• Structured Cabling Systems
• ICT & Network Infrastructure
• AV Systems
• SMATV / IPTV Systems
• PA/BGM Systems
• ELV and security system integrations
• Produce:
• Shop drawings
• IFC and tender drawings
• Installation drawings
• Coordination layouts
• Schematics
• Single-line diagrams
• Riser diagrams
• Rack layouts
• Device schedules
• As-built drawings
• Convert engineering concepts, site survey information, and design mark-ups into accurate drafting deliverables.
• Ensure all drawings comply with:
• Project standards
• Client requirements
• Authority regulations
• Company drafting standards
• QA/QC procedures

2. System Coordination & Multidisciplinary Integration

• Coordinate with:
• Security Systems Engineers
• MEP Engineers
• ICT teams
• BIM teams
• Architects
• Structural engineers
• Contractors and consultants
• Support multidisciplinary coordination activities to ensure accurate integration of security, ELV, ICT, and MEP systems.
• Identify and resolve coordination clashes and interface issues between building services and security systems.
• Support BIM coordination and model integration workflows where required.
• Participate in coordination meetings, technical workshops, and design review sessions.

3. Drawing Revisions & Site Coordination

• Revise and update drawings based on:
• Site conditions
• Design changes
• RFIs
• Client comments
• Engineering instructions
• Conduct site visits where required to verify installations and prepare accurate as-built documentation.
• Support construction and installation teams with technical drawing clarifications and updates.
• Ensure all drawing revisions are properly tracked and controlled.

4. Documentation & Compliance

• Maintain structured drawing registers, document control systems, and revision histories.
• Ensure proper version control, filing, archiving, and traceability of all project drawings and technical documentation.
• Support preparation of submissions for:
• Authority approvals
• Client submissions
• Technical compliance reviews
• Ensure compliance with:
• International Standards
• Industry drafting standards
• Company QA/QC procedures

5. Technical Support & Project Delivery

• Support engineering and project delivery teams with technical drafting and coordination activities.
• Assist with quantity take-offs, BOQs, and technical documentation where required.
• Generate:
• CCTV coverage layouts
• Wi-Fi heat maps
• Coordination overlays
• Technical presentation drawings
• Support project delivery throughout:
• Design
• Construction
• Testing & commissioning
• Handover phases

Technical Expertise

The successful candidate should demonstrate strong experience in:

• Electronic security systems drafting
• ELV / ULV systems coordination
• ICT and structured cabling layouts
• MEP coordination environments

• Data centre and server room layouts
• Shop drawing preparation

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma, Degree, or Technical Qualification in:
• Drafting
• Electrical Engineering
• Electronics Engineering
• BIM / Digital Engineering
• Building Services
• Or related discipline
• Minimum 3–6 years of experience within:
• Security systems drafting
• ELV / ICT drafting
• MEP coordination
• Multidisciplinary engineering projects
• Strong experience supporting complex and large-scale infrastructure or building projects.
• Experience working on:
• Data centres
• Commercial towers
• Mixed-use developments
• Industrial facilities
• Critical infrastructure projects
• Experience supporting BIM coordination and multidisciplinary delivery environments is advantageous.
