CAD Technician – Oil & Gas / Petrochemical

We are seeking a detail-oriented CAD Technician to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing, updating, and maintaining accurate engineering drawings and plant documentation to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations within our Oil & Gas/Petrochemical facilities.

Key responsibilities include preparing and revising Plot Plans, Key Plans, General Arrangement (GA) drawings, Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), piping isometrics, pipe support drawings, equipment layouts, and structural platform drawings using industry-standard CAD software such as AutoCAD, SmartPlant 3D (SP3D), PDS, MicroStation, E3D, and SmartPlant P&ID (SPPID). The role also involves conducting site surveys, verifying field measurements, producing as-built drawings, and updating engineering documentation as part of the Management of Change (MOC) process.

The CAD Technician will perform drawing quality checks, validate engineering data including equipment tags and line references, integrate vendor drawings into plant documentation, maintain drawing revision status, and ensure documentation is current before turnaround activities. You will collaborate closely with engineering, operations, maintenance, contractors, and vendors while ensuring compliance with company drafting standards, HSE requirements, and document control procedures.

Requirements:

• Diploma in Mechanical, Civil, Instrumentation, or Electrical Engineering (Bachelor's degree preferred).
• 3–5 years of CAD drafting experience in the Oil & Gas industry; petrochemical experience is an advantage.
• Proficiency in one or more CAD applications, including AutoCAD, SP3D, PDS, MicroStation, E3D, or SPPID.
• Strong understanding of P&IDs, piping layouts, as-built documentation, MOC processes, MTO/BOM preparation, and engineering document control.
• Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively in English while working with multidisciplinary teams.
