CAD Technician (Technical Construction Drawings & Rendering) (Remote)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled CAD Technician with experience in producing detailed technical construction drawings and high-quality visual renderings. The successful candidate will support our design and project teams by preparing precise CAD documentation and presentation-ready visuals that communicate design intent effectively to clients, contractors, and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, develop, and edit 2D and 3D CAD drawings for construction projects, including plans, sections, elevations, and detailed technical drawings.
• Produce realistic renderings and visualizations to support design presentations, client approvals, and project marketing.
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to interpret design concepts and translate them into precise technical documentation and compelling visuals.
• Maintain drawing and rendering libraries, ensure version control, and align outputs with project standards.
• Incorporate amendments from design reviews, client feedback, or site instructions efficiently and accurately.
• Ensure all work complies with building regulations, industry standards, and health & safety requirements.
• Liaise with contractors, suppliers, and consultants to coordinate technical information and resolve drawing- or rendering-related queries.
• Support the continuous improvement of CAD and rendering workflows, standards, and templates.

Skills & Qualifications

Essential:

• Proven experience as a CAD Technician, ideally in the construction or architectural/engineering sector.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD (experience with Revit, Civil 3D, or similar software is an advantage).
• Strong technical knowledge of construction methods, detailing, and materials.
• Experience with rendering software (e.g., SketchUp with V-Ray, Lumion, 3ds Max, Enscape, or similar).
• Ability to read and interpret architectural and engineering drawings.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Desirable:

• Relevant qualification in CAD, construction technology, or a related field (HNC, HND, or equivalent).
• Experience with BIM processes and 3D modelling.
• Knowledge of UK Building Regulations (or relevant regional codes if outside UK).
• Strong design presentation skills with an eye for visual quality.
