CAD Designer
PWTech is seeking a CAD Designer capable of producing accurate and detailed drawings and models for wastewater equipment and systems using AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor, and Autodesk Vault. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and collaboratively with engineers, project managers, and fabricators to generate clear and comprehensive design documentation.
Daily tasks will involve:
- Creating and maintaining arrangement drawings, installation drawings, detailed fabrication drawings, and equipment layouts using AutoCAD and Inventor.
- Assisting engineers and project managers with mechanical design layouts and drawing preparation for proposals, submittals, and fabrication.
- Maintaining drawing accuracy and revision control within Autodesk Vault (experience preferred).
- Preparing and organizing P&ID diagrams and other supporting documents for equipment assemblies and process layouts.
- Collaborating with the design and engineering teams to ensure all drawings meet internal standards, customer requirements, and project specifications.
- Reviewing designs for completeness, manufacturability, and alignment with company standards.
- Supporting documentation updates, drawing conversions, and template improvements as needed.
Requirements:
The following requirements are mandatory and should be addressed in a cover letter:
- 2+ years of professional experience:
- using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor on a regular basis.
- producing arrangement and installation drawings and layout drawings.
- designing structures and equipment utilizing steel/ stainless steel.
- Reviewing contract, site, or construction drawings.
- Strong attention to detail, spatial reasoning, and adherence to drafting standards.
Highly Desirable:
The following experience and skills are highly relevant to this job but not required. Candidates with such experience are encouraged to highlight examples of the following in their resume and cover letter:
- Experience with Autodesk Vault or other PDM systems.
- Familiarity with P&IDs and process documentation.
- Experience in the Wastewater, Water Treatment, or related process industries.
- Certifications in AutoCAD or Autodesk Inventor.
- Knowledge of manufacturing practices, fabrication drawings, and mechanical assemblies.
- Experience collaborating with engineers, fabricators, and project managers on mechanical system designs.
