Key Responsibilities:
CAD-CAM Engineering:
- Develop and optimize CNC programs using CAD-CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks CAM, Fusion 360).
- Design tooling, fixtures, and jigs to support efficient machining operations.
- Collaborate with design engineers to translate 3D models and technical drawings into manufacturable components.
- Simulate and validate toolpaths to ensure accuracy and minimize waste.
- Maintain and update digital libraries of parts, tools, and machining parameters.
Shop Floor Management:
- Supervise daily operations of the machining and assembly areas on off shifts.
- Setup & Run all production machines when required.
- Coordinate production schedules, workforce allocation, and machine utilization.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor KPIs such as cycle time, scrap rate, and machine downtime.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives (Lean, Six Sigma, 5S).
- Train and mentor machinists, technicians, and junior engineers.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in CAD-CAM programming and CNC machining.
- 3+ years in a supervisory or managerial role on the shop floor.
- Proficiency in CAD-CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360).
- Strong understanding of G-code, CNC operations, and machining processes.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and production planning tools.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in firearms or precision component manufacturing.
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 or AS9100 quality systems.
- Ability to interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Hands-on experience with multi-axis CNC machines (3-axis, 5-axis, Swiss-type).
