CAD/CAM Solid works

Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented CAD/CAM SolidWorks Specialist to join our innovative manufacturing team. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) software to develop precise, efficient, and manufacturable designs. Your mechanical knowledge, combined with proficiency in SolidWorks and CAM programming, will be essential in streamlining production processes, improving tooling designs, and ensuring high-quality outputs. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge projects and advance your skills within a dynamic environment committed to precision and excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed 3D models and technical drawings using SolidWorks, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as GD&T and schematic requirements.
  • Create and optimize CNC programming for milling machines, lathes, and electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment using CAM software.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing teams to translate design concepts into manufacturable solutions, considering tooling, geometry, and material constraints.
  • Prepare schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation for machining processes utilizing AutoCAD and other CAD tools.
  • Set up and verify CNC programs for various machines including CNC lathes and milling machines, ensuring precision through the use of calipers, bore gauges, micrometers, and other precision measuring instruments.
  • Conduct geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T) analysis to ensure parts meet strict specifications.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives by applying lean manufacturing principles to reduce waste and enhance machining efficiency.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience with SolidWorks for 3D modeling and CAD design in a manufacturing or machining environment.
  • Strong knowledge of CAM programming for CNC milling machines, CNC lathes, and electrical discharge machining (EDM).
  • Familiarity with Fanuc controls, CNC programming languages, and machine setup procedures.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings accurately; experience with GD&T is highly desirable.
  • Mechanical aptitude combined with understanding of tooling selection, geometry, precision measuring instruments such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines (CMM).
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles to promote efficient workflow processes.
  • Experience with CATIA or similar advanced CAD/CAM software is a plus.
  • Strong math skills for calculations related to machining tolerances and geometric analysis.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on quality control and process improvement. Join us if you’re passionate about precision engineering, eager to develop innovative solutions using advanced CAD/CAM tools, and ready to contribute to a team dedicated to manufacturing excellence!
