Café Operations Manager — Specialty Coffee & Food | West Hollywood

Café Operations Manager — Specialty Coffee & Food | West Hollywood

Louisa Coffee is a specialty coffee roaster with 500+ locations overseas. We're opening our first Los Angeles flagship — designed as a space for coffee, culture, and collaboration — and building the foundation for U.S. expansion (3–5 stores in the next 2 years).

I started as a barista — now I'm the US operations partner. This is a place to grow.

My goal is that anyone who spends 2+ years with us has a real path to open their own store. We'll support you with the team, systems, and guidance — and help you explore access to capital when you're ready.

This is not a typical manager role. You'll work directly with the founding team to build the systems, culture, and standards that will scale across future locations. This is our first store in the US. We put our heart into it — an art gallery on the second floor, vintage speakers for vinyl, and a lot of soul.

You don't need to have everything figured out — but you need to be ready to build, learn, and operate at a high level. Above all, this role is for someone who genuinely loves working with people. Your primary job is to take care of your team — because a well-supported team takes care of everything else.

Why You'll Love Working With Us

  • Be part of the founding team of our first LA flagship
  • Work directly with the founder to shape operations and culture
  • Real growth path into multi-store leadership as we expand
  • On-site roasting with a Stronghold S9 — develop your coffee craft
  • A design-driven space with an art gallery and brand collaborations
  • Opportunity to connect with local artists, creatives, and emerging brands

Your Role

  • Lead daily operations: team, service flow, and quality standards
  • Build and manage efficient schedules with labor costs in mind
  • Maintain cleanliness and operational standards at all times
  • Train and develop baristas to deliver exceptional specialty coffee
  • Protect the culture and guest experience as we grow
  • Implement tools like Square, 7shifts, and MarginEdge to reduce admin and focus on people
  • Collaborate with the founding team on systems that scale

Our Approach to Food

We're building a smart, concise menu — easy to execute, easy to scale, and designed for strong unit economics. You'll work alongside a local chef on a program focused on high-quality sandwiches, burritos, and salads, built for consistency and growth across future stores.

We already have a strong back-of-house program in place, built with team members who have worked in some of LA's top restaurants. Now we're focused on building a front-of-house operation that matches that level of quality and execution.

Who You Are

  • 2+ years managing a specialty coffee or food & beverage operation
  • Deep knowledge of espresso, brewing methods, and coffee service
  • Strong operator — organized, accountable, detail oriented
  • Natural leader who leads from the floor, not the office
  • Comfortable with scheduling, labor costs, and operational systems
  • Passionate about coffee culture and guest experience
  • Ready to build, not just manage

Compensation & Benefits

  • $24–$30/hr to start, transitioning to salary + performance bonus
  • Flexible schedule
  • Paid time off
  • Coffee education and growth opportunities

If you're looking to just manage a store, this is not it. If you want to build something from the ground up and grow with it — let's talk.
