Café Server / Barista

The Social Cafe & Lounge is seeking a reliable and customer-focused Café Server/Barista to join our team. This role includes crafting high-quality coffee beverages, serving guests, assisting with food preparation, and supporting our lively atmosphere featuring nightly events and private parties. The ideal candidate is friendly, adaptable, and thrives in both relaxed daytime service and energetic evening settings.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve a full range of coffee and espresso-based beverages (lattes, cappuccinos, cold brews, specialty drinks)
• Take customer orders accurately while delivering excellent hospitality
• Operate espresso machines, grinders, and café equipment
• Prepare and assemble food items such as sandwiches, pastries, and light bites
• Support service during nightly events and private parties, including higher-volume periods
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the café, lounge, and workstations
• Handle cash and process transactions using the POS system
• Restock inventory and assist with opening and closing duties
• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards

Qualifications:

• Previous barista, café, or food service experience preferred (but not required)
• Ability to learn and execute a variety of coffee drinks
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable working both daytime shifts and evening events
• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs
• Ability to work in a busy, sometimes loud environment during events
