Cafe Attendant

Job Summary:

The Café Attendant will provide routine food preparation and customer assistance services

throughout the Café.

Duties and Responsibilities:

● Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality, with or without reasonable accommodation

● Available to work flexible hours that may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights and/or holidays

● Meet store operating policies and standards, including providing quality beverages and food products, cash handling and store safety and security, with or without reasonable accommodation

● Engage with and understand our customers, including discovering and responding to customer needs through clear and pleasant communication

● Prepare food and beverages to standard recipes or customized for customers, including recipe changes such as quantity of ingredients or substituted ingredients

● Available to perform many different tasks within the Cafe during each shift

● Arrange table settings (grab and go style), restock beverage fridge and snack shelve, replace stir sticks, paper napkins, pre-packaged condiments according to café standard, as needed

● Clears, cleans, and sanitizes tables

● Maintains, cleans, and sanitizes workstations

● Follows all safety and sanitation guidelines and regulations to ensure quality food service

● Ability to read and follow instructions and learn quickly

● Ability to learn quickly

● Ability to understand and carry out oral and written instructions and request clarification when needed

● Strong interpersonal skills

● Ability to work as part of a team

● Ability to build relationships

● Understanding of proper food handling and sanitation procedures

● Ability to multi-task

Education and Experience:

● High School Diploma

● California Food Handlers Certification (or ability to achieve before first day of work)

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

Prolonged periods of standing
Must be able to access and navigate all areas of the café
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
May be required to work in excessive heat and cold in association with the kitchen environment
While performing the duties of this job, the work environment can be noisy and you may be working in close proximity with others.
This role routinely interacts with children of school age (lunch program) and adults of all ages.

This position is contingent upon the completion and cleared background check via Livescan assessment.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $16.90 - $17.00 per year
