To provide management with a spirit of excellence to the department staff and volunteers. Oversees Café operations and merchandise sales with Sunday services and various special events. Leads teams to give service with excellence, providing quality craft coffee, with a culture of connectedness.
RESPONSIBILITIES (INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO)

You are part one of one team taking ownership and responsibility for the care and keeping of this house. You stay willing and eager to serve in big and small ways, from welcoming guests to picking up trash.

Manage Café on Sundays from 8 am – 4 pm. Including but not limited to, supporting food and drink fulfillment, communicating with guests – welcoming and handling any issues, leading and assigning roles for volunteers, and ensuring proper cleaning and stocking after each service.

Accountable for resource stewardship by controlling inventory levels, ordering, contractor labor, and expenses.

Weekly Scheduling of Volunteers for Sunday operations, and Tier 1 events as requested.

Train volunteers on how to effectively and efficiently run the café and trains other ministry areas as needed. (Fusion, High School Ministry, other campuses as needed.)

Collaborate with all necessary departments for additional special event requests (Merch sales support, Hot Cocoa Christmas Eve, Men’s, Women’s, Vida, Marriage, and Youth Conferences, etc.).

Order goods for various special event needs. Attend all necessary event meetings to obtain needs and requests.

Recruit, train, and schedule Merch volunteers and receiving merch deliveries. Setup, tear down, and replenishing of merch, and merch pop-up events.

Trains volunteers on guest service, product and recipe knowledge, and safe work practices.

Proficient at performing all POS duties, front and back-end functions.

Maintains proper loss prevention standards, reviewing cash handling procedures, deposits and safe procedures. Submit cash and product variance report to Direct Report weekly.

Promotes, and practices safe work habits, identifying and resolving potential safety hazards. Works with staff and volunteers to correct any inconsistencies to eliminate safety concerns.

Creates and communicates service, product, and safety policies and communicates to team.

Implement systems, processes, and policies for the Café which support and align with overall church vision, goals, policies and protocols.

Utilize Concur for all clear expense reporting.

Prepare annual Café Department budget

Collaborate with Guest Experience Director to ideate and implement guest connection and engagement experiences.

Provide feedback and recommendations to StratMark for marketing and promotions.
-
Available for health inspection walk-throughs with the Health Department.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
-
2+ years of experience in Hospitality with knowledge of coffee shop or restaurant management.
-
Experience in online merchandise sales and shipping fulfillment preferred.

Obtain and keep current a ServSafe Manager Certification

Flexible schedule will include some evenings and weekends

Physical Demands: Responsible to meet the physical demands and physical requirements of this job: lifting over 20 lbs, standing long hours, walking, carrying, pushing/pulling, kneeling, crouching/crawling, using a knife, moving at a fast pace, and working with very hot equipment. COMPUTER / SOFTWARE EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

PC/MAC knowledge, Microsoft Office Suite, Shipworks, Shopify, Square, Rock, and Planning Center Online.
