In this energetic role, you’ll be the friendly face greeting customers, preparing delicious beverages, and ensuring every guest has an exceptional experience. Your enthusiasm and attention to detail will help create a warm atmosphere where customers feel valued and eager to return. Whether you’re crafting smoothies, açaí bowls or wraps, managing sales transactions, or maintaining food safety standards, your contribution will be vital to our café’s success. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in food service, retail math, and customer interaction while working in a personal setting.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers warmly and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their visit
• Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, acai bowls and food items with precision and care
• Operate POS systems such as Square for accurate sales processing and cash handling
• Manage cash register transactions efficiently, including cash handling and basic math calculations for change
• Maintain cleanliness and food safety standards in food preparation areas and dining spaces
• Assist with food handling, serving, and food safety protocols to ensure quality and compliance
• Support inventory management by restocking supplies and monitoring product levels using retail math skills
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth café operations during busy periods
• Uphold health regulations by following proper food safety procedures and sanitation practices

Qualifications

• Cafe or similar experience preferred but not required
• Familiarity with POS systems such as Square or similar is a plus
• Strong time management skills to handle multiple tasks efficiently during peak hours
• Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude and clear communication abilities
• Ability to perform basic math calculations accurately for transactions and inventory counts
• Experience in food handling, food preparation, or retail math is advantageous
• Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
• Reliable team player with a proactive approach to supporting café operations
• Must be able to pass back check
• Must be reliable
• Must have transportation to work and reliable daycare for children if needed

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
