Job Title: Cafeteria Chef / Line CookRole Summary:
We are looking for a skilled and energetic Cafeteria Chef with at least 3 years of experience in fast-paced cafeteria or fast-food environments. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining a clean workspace, and ensuring fast service during peak hours.
Key Responsibilities:
- Meal Preparation: Prepare and cook menu items including sandwiches, burgers, appetizers, and daily specials according to standardized recipes.
- Quality Control: Ensure all food is served at the correct temperature and maintains a consistent, high-quality taste.
- Inventory Management: Monitor stock levels, report shortages, and ensure ingredients are fresh and properly stored (FIFO method).
- Kitchen Hygiene: Maintain strict cleanliness and sanitation standards in the kitchen, equipment, and food prep areas at all times.
- Efficiency: Manage multiple orders simultaneously and ensure quick turnaround times without compromising quality.
- Waste Management: Minimize food waste through proper portion control and efficient ingredient usage.
Requirements & Qualifications:
- Experience: Minimum of 3 years of proven experience in a cafeteria, bistro, or fast-food restaurant.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in using grills, deep fryers, slicers, and other commercial kitchen equipment.
- Food Safety: Strong knowledge of food health and safety regulations (HACCP or local health department standards).
- Soft Skills: Ability to work under pressure, strong communication skills, and a positive team-player attitude.
- Stamina: Ability to stand for long periods and work in a high-temperature environment.
- Certification: A valid Food Handler’s Certificate is highly preferred.
