Cafeteria Worker – cashier/server/clean-up

POSITION: Cafeteria Worker – Location TBD

HOURS: 10:00AM – 1:30PM 3.5 hours per day, 5 days per week

SALARY: Cafeteria Salary Schedule, Grade IV; Dependent on Experience

  • Shall present neat in appearance and maintain the highest standards of cleanliness.
  • Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in an efficient food service program which provides food of high nutritious quality and attractiveness in an atmosphere of cleanliness, cheerfulness and personal caring.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist in the preparation of food portions and prepares hot and cold cafeteria serving counter.
  • Review menu for service and instructions from the Head Cook/Manager for any variations that might occur.
  • Maintain adequate supply of all serving utensils as required for the day’s menu.
  • Maintain all food supplies for necessary lunch periods using judgment and discretion during final lunch period.
  • After each lunch serving period, assist in the kitchen as assigned by the Head Cook/Manager in the cleaning of utensils, carts, equipment and wiping of counters.
  • Serve students and staff from serving counter, utilizing equal and required portions.
  • Assist in hot and cold food preparation under supervision of cook.
  • Assist in supplying serving area with attractive meals and baked goods.
  • Assist in maintaining work area, refrigerators, freezers, and stock room in a clean, safe, and sanitary condition.
  • Assist in maintaining the trash and garbage collection area in a neat and sanitary condition.
  • Perform other related tasks as required, including duties at special meal functions, as required by the Head Cook/Manager or Cafeteria Supervisor.

CONTRACT WORKDAYS: 178 days

RESPONSIBLE TO: Head Cook/Manager

SUPERVISES: N/A

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $15.74 - $19.33 per hour
