Job Summary
The Cake, Sweets & Pastry Chef is responsible for preparing, baking, decorating, and presenting high-quality cakes, pastries, desserts, and sweets in accordance with company standards. The role requires creativity, precision, and consistency while ensuring food safety, hygiene, and timely production for retail, custom orders, and events.
Key Responsibilities
- Production & Preparation
- Prepare and produce a wide range of cakes, pastries, desserts, and traditional or modern sweets.
- Execute custom cake designs, including celebration, wedding, corporate, and themed cakes.
- Ensure consistent taste, texture, quality, and presentation of all products.
- Follow standardized recipes while also contributing creative ideas for new items.
- Maintain high aesthetic standards in line with brand guidelines and customer expectations.
Quality Control
- Inspect ingredients and finished products to ensure freshness and quality.
- Minimize wastage through proper portioning and inventory awareness.
Hygiene & Safety
- Adhere strictly to food safety regulations, HACCP standards, and hygiene practices.
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, tools, and kitchen equipment at all times.
- Inventory & Coordination
- Assist in monitoring stock levels of ingredients and baking supplies.
- Coordinate with the kitchen and sales team to meet daily production and order deadlines.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Certification
- Diploma or certification in Pastry Arts, Baking, or Culinary Arts (preferred).
- Minimum 2–4 years of experience as a Pastry Chef, Cake Decorator, or similar role.
- Experience in commercial kitchens, bakeries, or confectionery production is preferred.
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of baking techniques, pastry preparation, and dessert production.
- Proficiency in cake decoration, fondant work, and modern pastry trend
