Call Center Intake Advocate

We're Hiring: Call Center Intake Advocate | $18.80/hr. + Amazing Benefits!

Location: 1240 American Beauty Dr, Salt Lake City | Schedule: Typically, Monday - Friday 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (on-site) | Type: Full-Time | FLSA: Non-Exempt

Are you a person with a passion for helping others? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where compassion, teamwork, and problem-solving matter? We're looking for an Intake Advocate to be the welcoming first point of contact for clients seeking support and resources.

In this role, you'll answer incoming calls, return voicemails, guide clients through available programs and eligibility requirements, complete initial screenings, process applications, gather documentation, schedule appointments, and connect individuals and families with community resources. Using a trauma-informed, client-centered approach, you'll help ensure every client feels heard, respected, and supported.

• Comfort using computers, MS Office, internet applications, and data entry systems
• Ability to multitask on a multi-line phone system in a busy environment
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills
• A professional, compassionate, and team-oriented mindset
• High levels of accountability, confidentiality, and flexibility
• Confidence communicating in English, both written and verbal

What We're Looking For

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED
• MS Office experience

Preferred:

• Two years of nonprofit, customer service, or call center experience
• Bilingual in Spanish or Arabic

A Few Important Details

This position requires professionalism, reliability, teamwork, and a willingness to adapt to changing needs. Candidates must successfully pass a background check, drug/alcohol screening, sex offender registry check, child abuse/neglect check, and meet all Head Start Health requirements.

Physical demands are primarily desk-based and include continuous sitting, occasional standing/walking, and lifting to 10 pounds
