Job Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Tax Support Analyst to join our team in a fast-paced call center environment. This role involves assisting taxpayers with inquiries, resolving account issues, and providing accurate information related to tax filings, payments, and procedures. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, analytical abilities, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service via phone and written communication in a high-volume call center environment.
- Respond to a wide range of taxpayer inquiries related to tax filings, payments, and account status.
- Apply knowledge gained through training to analyze issues and provide accurate resolutions.
- Access and update taxpayer information using internal systems and databases.
- Maintain professionalism with strong grammar, spelling, and communication skills in all interactions.
- Ensure compliance with confidentiality, ethical standards, and data privacy requirements.
Tax Analyst Responsibilities
- Provide technical and procedural support to taxpayers, representatives, and internal departments.
- Review taxpayer accounts and accurately apply payments as required.
- Conduct detailed research to resolve complex issues related to tax payments, returns, and liabilities.
- Investigate unpaid or unfiled tax accounts using internal systems and tools.
- Process and close cases that are paid in full, dismissed, or discharged.
- Create and update tax liabilities and billings based on legal or court documentation.
- Adjust penalties and interest where applicable.
- Assist with documentation and evidence collection for investigation cases, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Review and process requests for confidential taxpayer information in accordance with regulations.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Previous experience in a call center, customer service, or tax-related role is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to navigate multiple systems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
