Duties and Responsibilities of a Camp Boss1. Camp Administration & Management
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the labour camp.
- Maintain discipline, order, and proper behavior among residents.
- Ensure camp rules and regulations are followed at all times.
- Maintain updated records of camp occupants, room allocation, and attendance.
2. Accommodation & Facilities Management
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene of rooms, kitchens, toilets, and common areas.
- Coordinate housekeeping, waste disposal, and pest control services.
- Monitor water, electricity, sewage, and general utilities.
- Report and follow up on maintenance issues (A/C, plumbing, electrical, etc.).
3. Health, Safety & Welfare
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify hazards and unsafe conditions.
- Ensure availability of first-aid kits and emergency contacts.
- Coordinate hospital visits and medical assistance when required.
- Monitor food hygiene and kitchen cleanliness.
4. Security & Discipline
- Control entry and exit of camp residents and visitors.
- Coordinate with security guards for access control and safety.
- Handle disputes, misconduct, and violations of camp rules.
- Report serious incidents to management immediately.
5. Coordination & Communication
- Act as the main point of contact between workers and management.
- Coordinate with HR, Admin, and Site Supervisors regarding manpower issues.
- Communicate camp notices, rules, and instructions to residents.
- Assist in worker mobilization to and from worksites.
6. Inventory & Asset Control
- Maintain records of camp furniture, equipment, and assets.
- Monitor usage and prevent damage or misuse of camp property.
- Coordinate procurement of cleaning materials and basic supplies.
7. Compliance & Reporting
- Ensure camp complies with local authority and labour law requirements.
- Assist during inspections by authorities (Municipality, Civil Defense, MOHRE).
- Prepare daily/weekly/monthly reports on camp status and issues.
8. Emergency Handling
- Respond promptly to emergencies such as fire, accidents, or illness.
- Ensure emergency evacuation procedures are known and followed.
- Coordinate with emergency services when required.
