Duties

• Lead and supervise children during daily camp activities, ensuring safety and engagement at all times
• Facilitate a variety of recreational, educational, nature based activities to promote ecology and animal care
• Manage behavior with positive reinforcement and effective behavior management techniques to promote respectful interaction
• Assist with planning and executing overnight camp experiences, including setting up accommodations and supervising evening activities
• Provide first aid when necessary, following proper protocols to ensure children’s health and safety
• Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance through individualized attention and inclusive practices
• Foster a welcoming environment that encourages teamwork, creativity, and personal development among campers

Requirements

• Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, babysitting, or camp programs is highly desirable
• Knowledge of classroom management strategies and childhood development principles
• Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain certification if not already certified
• Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents, and campers
• Ability to handle diverse situations with patience, enthusiasm, and professionalism
• Experience in outdoor ed, gardening and animal care highly desirable
• Demonstrated commitment to creating an inclusive environment that respects diverse backgrounds and needs

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5.0 – 45.0 per week
