JOB
An employee in this position provides a high-quality after-school and summer camp experience by incorporating organized activities including: arts and crafts, recreational sports and games, field trips, specialty programs and much more for Parks and Recreation of Harnett County. This includes: leading various activities; enforcing program rules; communicating with parent of participants at the beginning and end of the day; and working well with other employees and volunteers.Hourly Pay Rate: $10.8315
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION: Greets parents and children as they arrive.Provides a high-quality camping experience; incorporates organized activities such as arts and crafts, recreational sports and games; field trips, specialty programs, etc.Engages children in activities.Interfaces with children in a positive and effective way; presents a positive image of Harnett County.Coordinates schedule including snacks and lunches.Enforces rules, regulations, and policies. Collaborates and works with volunteers, other employees, and coworkers.Acts as a positive role model for children.Communicates with parent of participants during drop off/pick up of children.Performs basic clerical or manual tasks.Possession of certification in CPR and AED (or obtain within first 90 days of employment.)
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Must be able to perform sedentary work and occasionally exerting up to 10 pounds of force to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects. This work also involves the physical abilities of balancing, climbing, grasping, perceiving sounds at normal speaking levels, discriminating among sounds, pulling, pushing, reaching, standing, expressing ideas by the spoken word, shouting to be heard above ambient noise, and walking. An incumbent must also possess the visual acuity to work with color or depth perception, observe situations, or operate job-related
equipment.WORK ENVIRONMENT: The employee works with children and other adults in both an inside and outside environment including gyms, playgrounds, and library. May be exposed to other elements when on field trips or when delivering first aid.
