Job Summary

Responsibilities

• Supervise and engage children in a variety of camp activities, including sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor adventures
• Ensure the safety and well-being of all campers by adhering to safety protocols and maintaining constant supervision
• Foster an inclusive environment that promotes positive behavior, respect, and teamwork among campers
• Implement age-appropriate behavior management strategies to encourage cooperation and good conduct
• Support campers’ emotional development through active listening, encouragement, and when appropriate
• Collaborate with fellow counselors to plan daily schedules, organize events, and ensure smooth camp operations

Requirements

• Prior experience working with children in settings such as daycare, babysitting, tutoring, or camp programs
• Knowledge of childhood development principles and early childhood education best practices
• Ability to manage group behavior effectively using positive reinforcement techniques
• Certifications in first aid and CPR are highly preferred; willingness to obtain if not already certified
• Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with children of diverse backgrounds
• Enthusiasm for outdoor activities, sports coaching, theater arts or similar interests that enhance camp programming
