Cover Nurse – Summer 2026

Camp Cooper is the UK’s leading American-style overnight summer camp based in Scotland, for children aged 7–17.

Who Are We Looking For?

We are currently recruiting a Cover Nurse to support our health care team during Summer 2026. The nurse is responsible for the healthcare of campers and staff at camp, including administering medications, dealing with illnesses and injuries, and supporting medical emergencies where required.

The successful applicant will:

• Work Monday – Friday, 9:00am – 6:00pm
• Work in one-week blocks throughout the summer
• Have access to a vehicle and be confident driving between sites
• Be willing to commute between our two camp locations:
• Ardvreck School, Gwydyr Rd, Crieff PH7 4EX
• Belhaven Hill School, Belhaven Rd, Dunbar EH42 1NN

Camp Nurse Information

Experience Required:

• Have a valid nursing qualification
• Experience working in a fast-paced and demanding environment
• Maturity to be responsible for the care, wellbeing, and safety of young people
• Hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle

Key Responsibilities:

• Giving out routine camper medications
• Dealing with routine camper injuries and illnesses such as cuts, scrapes, grazes, colds, sore throats, etc.
• Dealing with emergency medical situations
• Supporting the wider team where required

General Responsibilities:

• Ensure illnesses, injuries, and incidents are reported and documented
• Check allergies and general medical information for campers attending future sessions
• Organise the Health Centre and all medications
• Conduct themselves in a way that is, at all times, consistent with Camp policies and safeguarding procedures

• Monday 6 July – Friday 10 July 2026
• Monday 13 July – Thursday 16 July 2026
• Monday 20 July – Friday 24 July 2026
• Monday 27 July – Thursday 30 July 2026
• Monday 3 August – Friday 7 August 2026
• Monday 10 August – Thursday 13 August 2026

Salary

• £150 per day
• £750 for a full 5-day working week
• £600 for a 4-day working week
• Mileage included for travel between camp locations

Accommodation and meals are provided for the duration of your working dates.
