The Campaign Advancement Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing strategies to support ActUp Theater’s multi-year capital campaign. This role involves cultivating relationships with donors, managing campaign communications, and ensuring that fundraising goals are met to strengthen the organization’s long-term sustainability. By leading campaign efforts and engaging the community, this position plays a critical role in advancing ActUp Theater’s mission and impact. Responsibilities:
- Ensure that all capital campaign fundraising efforts align with the organization’s mission, values, and long-term vision.
- Plan, coordinate, and oversee implementation of strategies to identify, cultivate, and secure major gifts and pledges for the capital campaign.
- Recommend short- and long-term campaign strategies that support the organization’s fundraising priorities and financial objectives.
- Execute and manage a comprehensive capital campaign timeline, including prospect research, solicitation, stewardship, and recognition plans.
- Partner with the Chief Development Officer and leadership team to engage board members, campaign committees, and community stakeholders in fundraising efforts.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with major donors, corporate partners, and foundations, ensuring consistent communication, recognition, and impact reporting.
- Secure lead gifts, multi-year commitments, and large-scale donations critical to the success of the campaign.
- Develop donor cultivation events and experiences that highlight campaign goals and inspire community investment.
- Track campaign progress, prepare regular reports, and ensure accurate pledge documentation and donor records.
- Collaborate with marketing/communications to create compelling campaign materials, updates, and donor stewardship content.
- Exercise exceptional project management skills to keep campaign efforts on schedule and on target.
- Work independently while collaborating across departments to ensure campaign activities are fully integrated with organizational operations.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage effectively with diverse donors and supporters.
- Maintain confidentiality, professionalism, and accountability in all campaign activities.
- Organize and facilitate campaign meetings, donor briefings, and committee sessions as needed.
- Attend weekly check-ins with staff and leadership to report progress and address challenges.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor to support the success of the campaign.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Driven, strategic thinker eager to lead a high-impact, multi-year fundraising effort.
- Proven experience in major gifts fundraising, campaign management, or high-level donor cultivation.
- Resourceful self-starter with the ability to manage complex projects and deliver time-sensitive outcomes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate donors and stakeholders.
- Familiarity with arts, culture, equity, and social justice-focused organizations.
- Passion for the arts and a belief in the transformative power of creative expression.
- Strong technical skills with Google Suite, donor databases, and virtual platforms such as Zoom.
- Experience with ActUp Theater programs and productions (preferred but not required).
