About the Role
New Life Fellowship is seeking a dedicated and skilled Campus Groundskeeper to oversee the maintenance and beautification of our 13.5-acre campus. We are transitioning to an in-house grounds model and are looking for a reliable individual who takes pride in their work. This is an essential role that ensures our facilities are pristine, welcoming, and safe for our congregation and community.
Weekly Schedule & Responsibilities
We operate on a two-day schedule designed to maximize productivity and ensure our grounds are "Sunday-ready."
Tuesday: The "Stewardship" Day (6–8 Hours)
Focus: Detailed landscaping, irrigation, and proactive maintenance.
- Landscaping & Beautification: Plant seasonal flowers, lay sod, apply mulch, and maintain garden beds.
- Pruning: Trim bushes, shrubs, and ornamental trees across the campus.
- Irrigation Maintenance: Regularly inspect the sprinkler system, check for leaks, identify dry zones, and perform minor repairs or report to Director of Facility.
- General Upkeep: Debris removal (branches/trash) and basic preventative maintenance on church-owned equipment (greasing, blade sharpening, monitoring fuel/oil).
Friday: The "Grounds" Day (8–10 Hours)
Focus: Mowing, cutting, and overall property appearance.
- Objective: This day is dedicated to ensuring everything is perfectly manicured to make the campus look beautiful and inviting for our weekend services.
- Mowing: Operate church-provided commercial zero-turn equipment to mow and edge approximately 8–10 acres of turf.
- Cleanup: String trimming (weed-eating) around the 20,000 sq. ft. facility, the 150-space concrete parking lot, fence lines, and signage.
- Finishing: Use blowers to clear all walkways, entryways, and parking areas to ensure the campus looks perfect for the weekend.
Qualifications
- Experience: 2+ years of professional experience operating commercial-grade landscaping equipment (zero-turn mowers, trimmers, blowers).
- Physical Stamina: Able to perform manual labor outdoors in North Texas weather, including lifting up to 25 lbs (bags of mulch, sod, etc.).
- Technical Skill: Basic understanding of irrigation systems and turf health.
- Reliability: A self-starter who can manage their time efficiently, work independently, and maintain a consistent schedule.
- Availability: Must be available to work consistent Tuesday and Friday shifts.
- Professionalism: A respectful demeanor aligned with a church environment.
