Campus Host (part-time)

JOB SUMMARY:

This role is responsible for creating memorable guest experiences This individual will assist the General Manager and other members of the department. The Host should have a passion for customer experience and hospitality.

ESSENTIAL/PRIMARY DUTIES:

  • Assists in all aspects of a guest’s experience from beginning to end by extending a friendly greeting in an inviting environment
  • Executes guest’s requests in a friendly and timely manner, ensuring satisfaction throughout and adjusting as necessary
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency for guest requests
  • Communicates promptly with co-workers and other departments to ensure all guests get their food as ordered in timely fashion

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Restaurant or Event/Banquet server in either a free-standing or hotel restaurant.

COMPETENCY/SKILLS REQUIREMENTS

  • Basic understanding of culinary and beverage terms

  • Working knowledge of the menus, menu ingredients and what is unavailable for the day

  • Professional proficiency of the English language in reading, writing and verbal communication

  • Strong ability to adapt to changes and unexpected events

  • Ability to maintain a professional and calm demeanor
