Campus Information and Postal Services Associate - Flex

Description:

This employee provides excellent customer service by answering the main college phone line, providing information to callers and visitors, and/or referring to other offices as needed. This role also offers assistance to students and staff with packages received from various couriers. This position is a flexible role with variable hours based on the needs of the campus throughout the year. Shift hours will vary and include evening, weekend, and college closure periods.

  • Provide primary reception and support duties for the Central College information center; greet visitors; answer questions; provide information and/or refer to the appropriate office or resource.
  • Answer and route incoming telephone calls.
  • Have a thorough understanding and knowledge of campus resources.
  • Have an awareness and understanding of campuswide events, functions, and facilities.
  • Respond to emergency situations routed through the information center and forward messages to the appropriate individual; monitor police scanners and cameras in the wellness center exercise area.
  • Update lost items and log according to set procedures.
  • Receive packages from various delivery services and scan out packages for students.
  • Maintain an appropriate level of professionalism and confidentiality.
Requirements:
  • High School diploma
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office, Google docs, and email
  • Customer services skills plus 6-12 months of relative experience
  • Must be able to lift 35 pounds.
