Campus Life Assistant Part-Time · Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri · 10am–2pm
SHOW UP. WORK HARD. MAKE A DIFFERENCE.
This job is for someone who loves kids, isn't afraid to get their hands dirty, and finds real satisfaction in a day well worked. You'll be on your feet from the moment you arrive — supervising students, setting up activities, cleaning up messes, putting bandaids on scraped knees, and somewhere in between, capturing the moments that make our school worth talking about. If that sounds like a great day to you, we want to meet you.
ABOUT CREATIVE STEAM
Creative STEAM is a 501(c)(3) non-profit learning center in Laguna Woods, CA, built on the belief that learning should be hands-on, human, and joyful. We're a small, tight-knit campus where every student is known by name and every staff member plays a real, meaningful role in the community we build together.
THE ROLE
This is a full-body, all-hands role. You are the person who makes the campus run — setting up before the day starts, keeping things safe and clean while it's happening, and breaking it all down at the end. You genuinely connect with students. You're reliable, physically capable, and you take pride in doing the unglamorous stuff well. The social media and content creation side of this job is real and valued, but it is one part of a much bigger picture. If you're only here for the camera work, this isn't the right fit.
This is also a role with a real future. We are a growing organization and we invest in people who show up, work hard, and care about what we're building. For the right person, this position is a launchpad — with genuine opportunity to grow into administrative, operations, or leadership roles as we expand.
WHAT YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO
With students — this is the most important part:
- Supervise students during lunch and recess — engaged, present, and attentive
- Build real relationships with kids and be a trusted, consistent presence on campus
- Support teachers in classrooms during centers, activities, and transitions
- Handle first aid for minor injuries — scrapes, ouches, and the occasional meltdown
- Be the calm, capable adult students can count on every single day
On the ground — the physical work:
- Set up and break down playground equipment and outdoor activity areas daily
- Prepare and clean up for school events, parties, assemblies, and celebrations
- Maintain a clean, organized, safe campus environment throughout the day
- Organize classroom supplies and support teacher needs
- This job can be physical, can be messy, and requires someone who takes pride in both
Content and community — the creative side:
- Capture photos and videos of daily school life using an Osmo camera
- Manage and post daily content across Instagram, Facebook, and Threads
- Shoot footage for yearbook, family communications, and school announcements
- Edit photos and videos using tools like CapCut, InShot, Adobe Premiere Rush, Canva, or similar apps
- Add captions, tags, and hashtags to maximize reach and engagement
- Jump on trends and create content that genuinely reflects our school's personality
- Maintain a consistent posting schedule and school voice across all platforms
WHO YOU ARE
- You love kids — genuinely, not just on paper. Students feel it when you walk in the room
- You are a hard worker who shows up on time, every time, ready to go
- You're physically capable and comfortable with active, on-your-feet work all day
- You don't shy away from cleaning, lifting, setting up, or whatever needs doing
- You're calm under pressure — a crying kid or a messy situation doesn't rattle you
- You have experience working with students or children in some capacity
- You have hands-on experience managing social media accounts — Instagram, Facebook, and Threads specifically
- You're comfortable with technology and confident using editing tools like CapCut, InShot, Canva, Adobe Premiere Rush, or similar apps
- You understand what makes content perform — good lighting, clean edits, strong captions, and consistent posting
- You're organized, dependable, and a strong team player
- You're someone who takes initiative, thinks ahead, and wants to grow
- Current first aid / CPR certification is a plus
WHY YOU'LL LOVE THIS JOB
- A schedule that works — Mon, Tue, Thu & Fri, 10am to 2pm
- Real variety — no two days are the same and the work actually matters
- A small, warm, community-driven campus where you are not just another employee
- Room to grow — we promote from within and actively support career advancement into administrative and leadership roles
- A great fit for someone in education, child development, kinesiology, marketing, or anyone who finds purpose in working with kids
- The chance to be a real part of a child's day — every single day
This job is physical, unpredictable, occasionally messy, and genuinely rewarding. We're not just looking for someone to fill a position — we're looking for someone to grow with us. If that excites you — we'd love to hear from you.
