Position: Campus Safety Director (Part Time, 1st and 2nd Shift)
Reports to: Director of Campus Safety
Purpose: To act as a communications center coordinator to maintain campus safety and security
Qualifications:
Must be 18 years old or older
Must possess a valid driver's license
Must obtain and maintain standard first aid and CPR certification by then end of first semester of employment
Trustworthy
Must possess and demonstrate good oral and written communication skills
Must be available to work flexible hours including nighttime and weekend hours
Must be in good physical condition, have eyesight correctable to 20/20, and be able to work in all weather conditions
Must successfully complete training program prior to final appointment
Must pass criminal history background check
Must be able to go up and down flights of stairs
Must be able to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds
Must pass Aquinas College Approved Driver check
Must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodations
Essential Job Functions:
Relay pertinent information to various personnel when it concerns responsibilities to the Department
Dispatch and coordinate field officers via two way radio
Handle all telephone communications to the department
Handle college switchboard
Implement emergency procedures as necessary, including contacting emergency services
Record all shift activity on departmental log
Type criminal complaints, maintenance requests, letters, memorandums, etc.
Maintain log of Request Not To Tickets
Relay pertinent information to shift personnel, including but not limited to keeping field officers informed of events and responsibilities
File reports, vehicle registrations, and traffic citations
Provide general information to students and visitors
Option to cross train as patrol officer
Monitor security systems on computer and cameras
