Cannabis HR Internship 2026

Looking to get your foot in the door with a fast-growing cannabis company?

We are looking for highly motivated and passionate students (preferably rising juniors and seniors) who are interested in a career in cannabis and are ready to make an immediate impact. Our 8–12-week paid Cannabis Summer Internship program will provide you with a fast-paced learning experience where you will see what it is like to work in the ever-growing cannabis industry!

We're adding an HR-specific internship to our program this summer, preferably someone who is completing a degree program in HR or a related field. We’re selecting one HR intern to join our team and work with the HR team at Proper on a daily basis.

We are looking for collaborative students who are not afraid to take initiative, work at a high level, and hold themselves accountable. Through our in-depth offerings, interns gain exposure across our business while making significant connections for their future and accessing exciting career opportunities. Individuals who participate in this internship will have the potential to make a strategic impact on the future of Proper Brands by creating a final presentation in front of key leaders in the business. While permanent employment with Proper Brands is not guaranteed, students who complete our internship program will receive a certificate of completion.

  • Start Date: June 8, 2026
  • Location: Rock Hill, MO
  • Schedule: 9 am - 5 pm
  • Pay: $15.00/hour

Core Job Duties:

  • Work in a team environment to accomplish goals
  • Hit weekly goals and provide management with updates
  • Generate new ideas and processes to help Proper Brands improve and innovate
  • Collaborate with mentor(s) and other HR team members
  • Contribute department-specific research and knowledge to the final term project
  • Assisting with stay interviews to gather employee feedback and improve retention
  • Creating and maintaining a content calendar for the Proper Wellness channel posts
  • Conducting audits of internal systems, including Slack, agent ID tracking, and fingerprint records
  • Researching and defining key employment law terms
  • Supporting Employee Resource Groups (ERGs) and related initiatives
  • Managing inventory related to HR operations
  • Managing the talent community calendar and coordinating related initiatives

Required Experience, Education, and Skills:

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher, all majors considered, HR majors or a related degree program preferred
  • Strong communication skills
  • Exceptional organization skills
  • Genuine interest and passion for the cannabis industry
  • Strong analytical and technical skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work in the United States without a need for sponsorship
  • Creative and innovative approach to solving problems and resolving issues

Additional Requirements:

  • Must be 21 years of age or older to apply
  • Must comply with all legal or company regulations for working in the Missouri cannabis industry
