Cannabis Marketing Specialist / Brand Ambassador - Boston

Starbase is a cannabis brand house built by a crew of longtime friends and operators with deep roots in the industry. We launched in Massachusetts in mid-May and are already in over two dozen shops statewide.

We operate out of a state-of-the-art facility with full automation, designed to deliver consistent, thoughtful, and high-quality product at scale. More brands are on the way as we continue to grow.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

We aren't just looking for a "salesperson." We want a storyteller. Specifically, we’re looking for a marketing-minded student or creative who loves the energy of live events and knows how to translate that "in-person magic" into clever, engaging social media content. If you’re someone who loves working events, filming on the fly, and building a community through a lens, you’ll fit right in. We’re inspired by creators who are fun, clever, and authentic with their digital presence—and we want you to bring that same energy to our brand and retail partners.

This role is a hybrid of field representation and digital content creation. You will cover Boston and the Cape, visiting 15–20 dispensaries. Expect 15–30 hours per week, with approximately 5 hours per week dedicated specifically to creative marketing tasks.

Brand Ambassador Responsibilities (The Ground Game)

  • Be the Face: Show up to dispensaries, build genuine relationships with staff, and make Starbase their favorite brand to work with.
  • Budtender Love: Execute our "Budtender Club" program with regular check-ins and legendary snack/merch drops.
  • The "Pop-Up" Pro: Lead in-store demos and pop-up events with high energy, educating consumers and budtenders, and making every activation feel like a party.
  • Merchandising: Keep our displays looking sharp and ensure our brand presence is premium.
  • Intelligence: Gather and report feedback from the front lines to help our team grow.

Marketing & Social Media Responsibilities (The Digital Edge)

  • Live Event Content: Serve as our on-site creator during events and pop-ups, capturing the "vibe" and energy of the crowd to highlight both our brands and our retail partners.
  • Content Capture: Film high-quality, "clever and fun" behind-the-scenes content during events, pop-ups, and store visits.
  • Storytelling: Showcase the relationship between our brands and the retail stores in a way that feels authentic and engaging (TikTok/Reels style).
  • Trend Spotting: Stay on top of social trends and brainstorm creative ways to highlight our products (Vacation & Country) through a "lifestyle-first" lens.
  • Collaboration: Work with the marketing lead to ensure the field content aligns with our brand voice and helps build out our digital community.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

  • Must be 21+ and eligible to work in the Massachusetts cannabis industry.
  • Marketing Student or Enthusiast: Someone who understands social media hooks, lighting, and what makes a post "shareable."
  • Event Lover: You get energized by crowds and love the "hustle" of a busy pop-up or community activation.
  • Reliable & Mobile: You’ll need a valid driver’s license and a reliable vehicle for travel across Eastern MA.
  • Professionalism: You can match your energy to the room—from a high-energy event to a professional meeting with a store manager.

BONUS IF YOU...

  • Are highly knowledgeable and passionate about the plant, terpenes, and current industry trends
  • Have experience in dispensary operations, sales support, or retail account management
  • Are great at reading a room and matching your energy to the moment
  • Stay current on the brands and formats making waves in the space
  • Are active on social media or comfortable capturing and sharing content
  • Have a working knowledge of Canva, Adobe, InDesign, or other basic design tools

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
