Job Summary:
Develop daily pick-up and delivery plan utilizing equipment, manpower and other resources to ensure an effective, efficient operation. Organize, plan and implement transportation solutions for assigned customers that utilize the best cost option to maximize profitability and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
· Uses independent judgement to match freight loads with optimal driver based on review of available loads and available drivers.
· Works closely with the Bidding Analyst to establish day to day scheduling of pickups and deliveries based on prioritizing loads by time schedule, special characteristics in high value product or hazardous material and customer priority.
· Review list of drivers available to accept each load for proximity to pick up, available hours under DOT regulation, home time and training requirements, and factors impacting driver retention.
· Review ration of available loads to truck for assigned region, area or customers and report the load balance to management daily.
· Plan & optimize shipments into loads, Maximizing revenue miles per tractor through appropriate equipment utilization of the fleet by verifying the status of all drivers and addressing any service alerts.
· Process customer orders, update Transportation Management System with current shipment information, optimize shipments into load consolidation to meet maximum revenue.
· Provide detailed instruction to various customers & associates from other shifts by phone and email.
· Provide visibility to management and the customer by tracking, process over-sight, auditing, researching and troubleshooting operational issues or functions.
· Complete daily logs, trackers and operational reporting.
· Handle rate negotiations with customers on a spot rate basis.
· Identify cost savings opportunities for the customer.
· Coordinates with customers to ensure on-time delivery by tracking trucks for pick-up, estimating times of arrival and delivery, and recovering loads when necessary and provides load exception investigation and reporting.
· Weighs alternative financial decisions before taking action.
· Monitor network trailer pool requirements.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· This position has no direct reports.
Minimum Qualifications:
· High School Diploma/GED with 1yr of transportation/logistics experience
Preferred Qualifications:
· Bachelor's Degree with 3-5 years of relevant professional experience in the transportation/Logistics industry
· Previous Brokerage experience
· Previous experience using McLeod (TMS Software)

· Effective written and verbal communication skills
Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
