The Captain of Quality Assurance & Improvement provides strategic leadership and oversight of the agency’s Quality Assurance program while remaining actively engaged in field operations. This position directly influences documentation integrity, regulatory compliance, clinical performance, and provider development.
The Captain serves as a clinical and operational leader, ensuring alignment between quality initiatives, field execution, and organizational standards.
Minimum Requirements
- Minimum 21 years of age
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Current Pennsylvania Department of Health (PA DoH) Paramedic certification with at least three (3) years of 911 experience
- Current PA DoH EMSVO credential with at least three (3) years of ambulance operation in a 911 setting
- Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification
- Current ACLS and PALS certifications
- Hazardous Materials (Haz-Mat) Awareness certification
- Completion of:
- IS-100
- IS-200
- IS-700 (NIMS)
- IS-800
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including:
- Every fourth weekend field requirement
- Off-peak administrative shifts
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior supervisory or leadership experience
- Experience managing QA/QI processes in an EMS or healthcare environment
- Current National Registry Paramedic (NRP) certification
