A Car Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. This includes working on engines, transmissions, brakes, electrical systems, and other mechanical components. The mechanic must have strong technical knowledge and hands-on skills, along with the ability to interpret diagnostic results and service manuals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Diagnose vehicle problems using diagnostic tools and manual inspection.
• Perform routine maintenance services such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid checks.
• Repair or replace worn parts, such as brake pads, wheel bearings, and sensors.
• Test vehicle systems and components to ensure proper operation after repairs.
• Maintain service records and document all work performed.
• Communicate clearly with customers about vehicle issues and required repairs.
• Stay up to date with the latest automotive technology and repair techniques.

Required Skills:

• Strong mechanical and technical aptitude.
• Problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Familiarity with diagnostic tools and repair software.
• Good hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Ability to read and interpret service manuals and schematics.
• Basic math and computer skills.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certification from a technical or vocational program in automotive repair (optional but preferred).
• ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certification is a plus.
• Valid driver’s license.

Work Environment:

• Typically works in garages, repair shops, or service centers.
• May require working in noisy, hot, or greasy environments.
• Must follow safety protocols and wear protective gear.
