Overview

Americars Auto Rental is looking for a responsible, hardworking, and detail-oriented Car Washer / Lot Attendant to join our team.

The main priority of this position is to wash, clean, and prepare rental vehicles so they are ready for customer delivery. The ideal candidate must take pride in keeping vehicles clean, organized, and presentable, while also being able to assist with basic fleet movement and operational support when needed.

This role is perfect for someone who enjoys working with vehicles, has a strong work ethic, pays attention to detail, and understands the importance of delivering clean and well-maintained cars to every customer.

Main Responsibilities

• Wash vehicles thoroughly on the outside, including hand washing, drying, windows, tires, rims, and exterior details.
• Clean vehicles on the inside, including vacuuming, wiping dashboards, doors, seats, cup holders, trunks, windows, and all visible interior areas.
• Make sure every vehicle is clean, presentable, and ready before being delivered to a customer.
• Inspect vehicles before and after cleaning and report any visible damage, scratches, dents, warning lights, missing items, or unusual vehicle conditions.
• Move vehicles safely within the office lot, parking areas, and other company parking locations.
• Pick up or move vehicles from different parking lots or stations to the main office when needed.
• Assist with transporting customers between the rental office and the airport, or from the airport to the office, when required.
• Keep control of cleaning materials and supplies used during daily operations.
• Organize, maintain, and clean the work area, including washing supplies, equipment, parking areas, and general workspace.
• Properly store cleaning products, tools, and equipment after use.
• Assist the operations team when necessary, while understanding that the main priority of the position is vehicle washing and preparation.
• Support basic operational needs during busy periods, such as moving cars, helping organize the lot, or preparing vehicles for upcoming reservations.
• Handle all vehicles carefully and responsibly to prevent damage.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license required.
• Must know how to drive safely and responsibly.
• Clean driving record preferred.
• Previous experience in car washing, detailing, rental car operations, or vehicle cleaning is preferred but not required.
• Ability to wash and clean multiple vehicles efficiently while maintaining quality.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Good attitude, professionalism, and willingness to work.
• Reliable, punctual, and responsible.
• Ability to work outdoors and stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks during the shift.
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning equipment such as vacuums, pressure washers, towels, cleaning chemicals, and tire shine products is a plus.
• Must be careful when moving vehicles in tight parking areas.

schedule & Availability

• Branch operating hours are generally from 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.
• Employees may occasionally be scheduled to arrive before opening or stay after closing as operational needs require.
• Rotating schedules are used, and work hours may vary from week to week.
• Weekend and holiday availability is required.
• Our business operates 365 days per year, including holidays.
• Overtime opportunities may be available based on business demands.

Ideal Candidate

The ideal candidate is honest, responsible, active, and careful with vehicles. We are looking for someone who understands that clean vehicles are a very important part of the customer experience in the rental car business.

This person should be able to work independently, follow instructions, stay organized, and support the team when needed. The priority of the position will always be washing and preparing vehicles, but from time to time, the person may be asked to assist with vehicle movement, customer transportation, or basic operational support.
