THE OPPORTUNITY

The Delray Beach Club is looking for an experienced Card Room Attendant.

THE ROLE

This dual-role position provides exceptional service to Members and Guests in the Card Room, Pool Deck, and Club dining venues. The individual in this role serves as both a Card Room Attendant and Greeter/Host, ensuring a welcoming, organized, and sanitary environment while delivering a high level of hospitality.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

To perform this job successfully, an individual must satisfactorily perform each essential duty.

Essential Responsibilities:

· Greets Members and Guests warmly and professionally.

· Escorts guests to tables or other Club destinations when necessary.

· Attends to Members during card play sessions.

· Takes and expedites food and beverage orders accurately.

· Assists Servers with drink service and floor support as needed.

· Maintains professional interactions with Members and team members.

· Moves tables and chairs as needed for the next member and guests.

· Resets tables at the end of the shift for the next meal period.

· Assists with restaurant, banquet, and buffet setup

· Sets up and maintains water and coffee service for all scheduled meetings in the Conference Room Multi-Purpose Room or any meeting or event, in accordance with the event schedule provided by the Catering Manager, including timely replenishment and breakdown after meetings conclude.

· Performs other duties as assigned.

Card Room Responsibilities

Game Setup & Breakdown

  • Prepares all games prior to Member arrival (Bridge, Canasta, Poker, Bunco, Bingo, etc.).
  • Coordinates with Members overseeing games.
  • Breaks down and organizes rooms after games conclude.

Game Maintenance & Sanitation

  • Cleans and sanitizes all games and equipment after use.
  • Ensures game cabinets remain organized and labeled.
  • Reports missing or damaged items immediately.
  • Ensures games extending beyond shift hours are cleaned by the next day.

Room Sanitation

  • Wipes down chairs (seat, back, arms), tables, and door handles.
  • Replaces table linens between games or seatings.
  • Places hand sanitizer on each table.
  • Vacuums and/or sweeps as needed.
  • Disinfects and properly stores pillows daily.

Greeter / Host Responsibilities

Guest Reception & Communication

  • Answers incoming phone calls professionally and directs appropriately.
  • Responds to general inquiries regarding dining, events, and Club activities.
  • Maintains knowledge of table numbers, seating charts, and server stations.
  • Assists in rearranging tables for large parties.

Reservations Management

  • Assists Member Services, hosts and managers with dining and event reservations when requested
  • Communicates reservation notes and special requests proactively.
  • Utilizes reservation systems and company software effectively.

General Responsibilities

  • Ensures reception, dining, and card room areas remain clean, organized, and inviting.
  • Performs opening and closing duties.
  • Assists with special events as needed.
  • Maintains compliance with food safety standards.
  • Attends staff meetings.
  • Maintains professional appearance and adheres to dress code standards.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by management.

WHAT YOU BRING

The requirements below represent the required knowledge, skills, and/or abilities.

  • Related experience in a fast-paced environment, one plus years recommended
  • Private Country Club or Hospitality experience is preferred
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Detail-oriented with good organizational skills.
  • Communicates well with Members, guests and employees
