Job Summary and Qualifications

As a Lead Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist at HCA Healthcare, you’ll take on a vital leadership role in the OR, guiding your team and ensuring patients receive the safest, most advanced cardiac care. Working alongside a highly skilled cardiac team, you’ll bring order, precision, and confidence to high-stakes heart and vascular procedures. Your responsibilities will include:

• Leading surgical preparation by organizing suites, equipment, and instruments to ensure readiness for every procedure
• Scrubbing in and supporting surgeons through complex cardiac surgeries, anticipating needs and maintaining a safe, sterile environment
• Guiding and mentoring surgical technologists, serving as a role model while training new team members and reinforcing best practices
• Overseeing quality and safety by managing counts, handling specimens, and ensuring compliance with infection prevention standards
• Driving teamwork and efficiency through effective communication, rapid problem-solving, and support for on-call and emergency cases

What qualifications you will need:

Licensure/Certification/Registration: Completion of an accredited Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist Technician program. This position must maintain ACLS & BLS through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, required for this emergency position / role.

Education: Associate degree or Course completion of a Registered Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist course, or AART credentialed course.

Experience: 5 or more years’ experience as Cath Lab RCIS scrub technicianpreferred.2-3years’ experience in a health care specific service area.

Special Qualifications: Comprehensive knowledge of Cath Lab cardiac procedures, techniques, standards of care, emergency equipment, instrumentation, X-ray equipment and supplies as they directly correlate to the cardiac service area.
