Cardio Strength Center Cleaner

POSITION SUMMARY: This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. The CSC Cleaner serves members of the Cardio Strength Center by completing assigned daily cleaning tasks and scheduling Fitness Orientations and Body Composition appointments.

EDUCATION AND YEARS OF EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer and technology skills
• Prior customer service and/or fitness experience
• Basic knowledge of proper use of cardio equipment
• Current CPR/AED and First Aid Trainings or complete upon hire

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Greet, acknowledge and engage all members in the Cardio Strength Center area; contribute to a positive, helpful and inviting atmosphere.
• Complete daily cleaning assignments.
• Follow all safety and risk management procedures and report any injuries or safety issues to the supervisor.
• Is knowledgeable of all health & wellness programs and shares this information with members.
• Attends staff meetings.
• Exemplifies and implements YMCA Health & Wellness standards, including dress code.
• Other duties as assigned and required by business necessity.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

• Ability to motivate and promote health and wellness to members
• Understanding of the YMCA App and how to download it
• Ability to relate well to members of all ages and fitness levels
• Flexible schedule with reliable, punctual attendance
• Strong customer service skills with the ability to work with varying wellness levels and ages
• Ability to respond calmly and quickly to safety and emergency situations; render necessary assistance during emergency situations
• Ability to attend all training and meetings as required
• Employees over the age of 18 must pass a criminal background check

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Must have the physical, visual and auditory ability to perform the essential functions of the job. Must be able to walk, lift and move equipment, bend, stoop, reach, squat.
