Cardiology Nurse Practitioner

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Cardiology Nurse Practitioner to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in cardiology and demonstrate the ability to provide high-quality patient care in various settings. This role involves working closely with patients to assess their cardiovascular health, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Duties

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including physical examinations and diagnostic evaluations related to cardiovascular health.
  • Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient needs and clinical guidelines.
  • Administer medications, while ensuring adherence to safety protocols.
  • Manage acute pain, triage patients effectively, and provide emergency care when necessary.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams in settings such as hospitals, outpatient clinics, and assisted living facilities.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation using EMR/EHR systems such as Epic, Cerner, or eClinicalWorks.
  • Educate patients on heart health management, lifestyle modifications, and medication adherence.
  • Participate in clinical research initiatives and contribute to quality improvement efforts within the practice.

Experience
Candidates should have a robust clinical background with experience in cardiology or related fields. Preferred qualifications include:

  • Critical care experience in a Level I or II trauma center or ICU setting.
  • Familiarity with geriatric care, pediatrics, or behavioral health is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in CPT coding, ICD-9/ICD-10 coding systems, and knowledge of workers' compensation law.
  • Experience with telehealth services and home care environments is a plus.
  • Strong skills in phlebotomy, specimen collection/processing, and infection control practices.
  • Understanding of medical terminology related to cardiology and overall patient care. This position requires a commitment to providing exceptional patient care while adhering to HIPAA regulations. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills, compassion for patients of all ages, and the ability to work collaboratively within a healthcare team.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $125,000.00 per year
