Job Title: Cardiovascular Cath Lab Technician
Location: Hackensack, NJ
Duration: 43 Weeks (Contract)
Shift: Day Shift (6:30 AM – 5:00 PM)
Schedule: 4×10-hour shifts | 40 hours/week
Weekend/On-Call: Not required

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Cardiovascular Cath Lab Technician to support diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures in a high-acuity hospital setting. The ideal candidate will have strong scrub experience, technical expertise in cardiac catheterization, and the ability to assist physicians during complex cardiovascular interventions.

Responsibilities

• Prepare sterile trays and organize specialized equipment for each procedure
• Prepare patients for procedures, including EKG lead placement, skin prep, and sterile draping
• Assist physicians during cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures
• Support procedures such as angioplasty, atherectomy, valvuloplasty, IVUS, pulmonary angiograms, and stent placement
• Operate power injectors and assist with imaging technologies
• Calibrate and monitor transducers for accurate hemodynamic readings
• Maintain and operate digital imaging systems, ensuring proper storage and retrieval of patient data
• Assist in emergency situations to support patient stabilization
• Assist with sheath removal and vascular closure device procedures
• Maintain inventory levels and ensure availability of necessary supplies
• Perform routine maintenance and quality checks on equipment
• Provide patient-centered care while considering age, cultural, and communication needs
• Adhere to all safety, infection control, and organizational standards

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Lab or invasive procedure setting in an acute care hospital
• Experience gained through a CVT-accredited program (6–12 months) or equivalent hands-on experience
• Strong knowledge of hemodynamic monitoring and sterile techniques

Required Skills

• Proficiency in cardiac catheterization procedures
• Cath Lab scrub experience (required)
• Familiarity with interventional cardiac procedures and equipment
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
• Effective communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in peripheral or neurovascular procedures (preferred but not required)

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs., push/pull up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to stand for extended periods (minimum 4 hours/day)
